Applications

Ethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate is mainly used as a solvent for metal and furniture spray painting, brush paint, and also as a solvent for protective coatings, dyes, resins, leather, and inks. It can also be used in the formulation of cleaning agents for hard surfaces such as metal and glass, and as a chemical reagent.

Diethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate is mainly used as a co-polymerizing agent for latex paints. Due to its excellent solubility and slow evaporation rate, it is an ideal solvent in the production of slow-drying nitrocellulose lacquer, natural lacquer, or spray painting processes.

Diethylene glycol ethyl ether acetate has certain toxicity. In Europe/USA/Japan, it may be replaced by other higher alcohol esters.
