711PUR Overlapping Adhesive
PUR711 is a reactive polyurethane hot melt adhesive, a white solid with a moderate open time, high initial tack, and low bubbling resistance, suitable for various materials. It exhibits high bond strength after curing and excellent water, temperature, cold, and solvent resistance.
Mainly used for bonding carbon crystal boards, wood boards, honeycomb boards, large panels, etc.
Product Basic Parameters
| Product Name | Solid Content | Viscosity | Shelf Life |
| PUR 1916 | 100% | ~12000 (Brookfield mPa.s/120°C) | 12 months. Store in a dry, cool place, following the "first-in, first-out" principle. |
Product Application Guide
| Workshop Environment | Temperature | 10-35°C |
| Relative Humidity | 10-80% | |
| Material Requirements | Sheet Material | ·The sheet material must have a smooth, clean surface, free of oil, dust, and other impurities. |
| Laminating Material | ·The plastic film must have a good primer coating with a surface energy greater than 36 mN/m; HPL must be properly sanded. | |
| Process Steps | Opening the drum for inspection | ·Before opening the drum and loading it into the machine, check if the appearance is normal and if there is any skin buildup. If skin buildup is present, take appropriate measures. |
| Dust removal from the board surface | ·Check if the brush rollers and dust collector are working properly. | |
| Preheating the board | ·If the workshop temperature is below 15℃, turn on the drying tunnel. | |
| Equipment Temperature Settings |
·The temperature of the pressure plate and throat should be around 125°C to ensure timely glue supply; it should not be too high. ·The temperature of the glue solution in the glue tank should be 120-140°C. Carefully check for significant temperature deviations along the length of the glue application roller. ·The surface temperature of the glue on the glue application roller should be 115-125°C. |
|
| Adhesive Application | ·Adjust the application rate between 35 and 120 g/m² depending on the material. Regularly measure the adhesive application rate. | |
| Lamination |
·If the workshop temperature is below 15°C, preheat the bonding material to at least 15°C. ·Operate as quickly as possible, ideally within 1 minute of adhesive application. ·In winter, it is recommended to open the drying tunnel to extend the open time and ensure the adhesive film temperature is above 30°C before lamination. |
|
| Rolling | ·The pressure should be applied evenly along the length of the roller, at a pressure of 2-4 bar. | |
| Curing |
·Stacking and handling are possible immediately after production. It is recommended to cure for 24 hours before machining. ·If subsequent processes involve painting or exposure to high temperatures, please consult technical personnel regarding curing time. |
|
| On-site Quality Control |
·Appearance: Smooth surface, free from defects such as orange peel, bubbles, and particles. ·Adhesive Strength: No rebound after production; after cooling, the edges should lift slightly; factory tensile strength and material breakage should be tested. |
Usage Method
1. After each day's production, clean the adhesive with a cleaning agent until the surface is dry.
2. To prevent bubbling and rebound in summer, composite boards can be placed in a cold press for several hours in extreme environments.
3. If the product has exceeded its shelf life, first check if a skin has formed. If the appearance and viscosity do not change significantly after melting, it can be used normally.
